Kirsten Konkel M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner / Speech-Language Pathologist
Thank you for your interest in Joyful Words Speech Therapy, Inc. As an ASHA-certified and California-licensed speech-language pathologist, I hold a master's degree in speech-language pathology from the University of Nevada, Reno since 2013. Over the past decade, I have gained experience in private practice and school-based settings, working with a wide range of medical diagnoses and children with complex communication needs. Since 2019, I have been PROMPT trained and consistently pursue additional training in communication interventions each year. My areas of specialization include speech sound disorders, late talkers (children with less than 50 words by age 2), augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), as well as receptive and expressive language delays in preschool and school-age children.
During individualized one-on-one therapy sessions, I prioritize evidence-based approaches that are child-led and family-centered. As a parent in the community myself, I understand the importance of supporting both children and their parents. My primary goal is to deliver high-quality and compassionate care to the preschool to school-age population within their daycare, preschool, or school environments. It is my passion to assist children and their families, and I would be honored to be part of your journey.
